A very shocking news has come out from America. A person shot and killed eight people at three different places in the USA’s Chicago city since Sunday. The reason behind the murders is not yet clear. Joliet and Will County police are still trying to determine the motive behind the murders. The person accused of murder is absconding.
What information did the police give?
Speaking to the media on Monday evening, officials said the bodies of the murdered persons were found at three different places on Sunday and Monday. This person is very dangerous and is also carrying weapons.
The body of one of the people killed was found Sunday in a home in Will County. Seven others were found in two homes in Joliet on Monday.
Joliet Police Chief William Evans said the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Fugitive Task Force is assisting local police in the search for the suspect.
Did the accused know the people who killed him?
During a press conference on Monday evening, William Evans said, “I’ve been a policeman for 29 years and this is probably the worst crime scene I’ve ever been involved with.”
Will County Chief Deputy Dan Jungles said he did not yet have any information on how many people had died. He said that there is still time for a post-mortem.
When asked whether the victims were family members of the killer? Dan Jungles said the suspect was known to him.
In a Facebook post earlier Monday afternoon, Joliet police said they were investigating “several” people found dead and shared a photo of the man and photos of a vehicle. Officers identified the vehicle as a red Toyota Camry.
Earlier on Monday, the Will County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of the same car via Facebook and said it was seen at two separate shootings Sunday afternoon.
