Assembly Elections 2023: The dates of Assembly Elections 2023 have been announcedin Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and MizoramOn Monday, October 9, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the dates in a press conference. Voting will be held in a single phase in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November, in Rajasthan on 23rd November, in Telangana on 30th November and in Mizoram on 07th November. Whereas in Chhattisgarh, voting will be held in two phases on 7th and 17th November. Election results will come in all five states on December 3.

What did the Chief Election Commissioner say?
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said, the Election Commission visited all the 5 states and held meetings with the political parties of all the states. Apart from this, meetings were held with government agencies and state governments. We met leaders of political parties. Took their suggestions and feedback.
Mizoram’s tenure ends in December 2023. The tenure of the remaining states is ending in January 2024. There are 679 assembly seats in these 5 states. There are more than 16.14 crore voters in these states. Of these, 8.2 crore are male and 7.8 crore are female voters. There are 60.2 lakh voters in these states who will vote for the first time.
1- How were the results last time in Madhya Pradesh?
There are 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. The tenure of the Assembly in the state is going to end on January 6, 2024.
The last assembly elections in the state were held in November 2018. In that election, Congress formed the government in the state and Kamal Nath became the Chief Minister.
Then Congress had got 114 seats, BJP 109 seats, BSP 2 seats and SP 1 seat. Independent candidates had won on 4 seats.
But in March 2020, 22 Congress MLAs resigned from the assembly and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with Jyotiraditya Scindia. After this the state government fell and Chief Minister Kamal Nath had to resign. After this, BJP formed the government in the state and Shivraj Singh Chouhan became the Chief Minister.
2- Results of Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2018
There are 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh. The tenure of the assembly here is going to end on January 3, 2024. The last assembly elections were held in November 2018. Congress had won this election and Bhupesh Baghel became the Chief Minister of the state.
In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress had won 68 out of 90 seats in the state. The party got 43.04% votes. Whereas BJP had to be satisfied with only 15 seats. His vote percentage was 32.97%.
3- Congress won in Rajasthan last time
If we talk about Rajasthan, there are 200 assembly seats there. In the elections held in 2018, Congress formed the government in the state and Ashok Gehlot became the Chief Minister.
Congress had won 100 out of 200 assembly seats in the state. The party got 39.30% votes. Whereas BJP had won 73 seats. His vote percentage was 38.77%. Apart from these, BSP had won 6, CPM 2, RLD 1, RLTP 3, BTP 2 and 13 independents had won.
4- KCR became CM of Telangana for the second time in 2018.
There are 119 assembly seats in Telangana. The tenure of the government here is ending on 16 January 2024. Assembly elections were held in Telangana in December 2018, in which Telangana Rashtra Samithi won. K Chandrashekhar Rao became the Chief Minister of the state for the second time. Let us tell you that now the name of TRS has been changed to BRS.
In the 2018 assembly elections, TRS had won 88 seats. The party got the maximum 46.87% votes. Whereas Congress was at second place with 19 seats. BJP had got only 1 seat. AIMIM had captured 7 seats.
5- Mizo National Front formed the government in Mizoram in 2018.
The tenure of the 40-seat Mizoram Assembly is going to end on December 17, 2023. The last assembly elections in the state were held in November 2018, in which the Mizo National Front won and formed the government in the state. Then Zoramthanga became the Chief Minister.
In the 2018 elections, Mizo National Front had captured 27 out of 40 seats in the state. Congress got 4 seats and BJP 1 seat. Eight independent candidates also won.
