Divya Pahuja Murder: The body of model Divya Pahuja was found in a canal in Haryana . Divya Pahuja was shot dead in a hotel in Gurgaon last week. Police said the body was thrown into the Bhakra Canal in Punjab and was washed away into the neighboring state. The body was recovered by a team of Gurugram Police from Jakhal in Haryana. Police said they sent photographs to Pahuja’s family, who identified his body. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem.
Where was Divya’s body found?
Divya Pahuja’s body was recovered at Kundani Head in Jakhal area of Fatehabad. Since this morning, the NDRF team of Patiala and the team of Gurugram Crime Branch had launched a search operation.
Gurugram Police will hold a press conference regarding this entire matter at 3:30 pm. In which it will give complete information regarding the recovery of Divya’s body, and will also reveal the interrogation of accused Balraj Gill.
Fatehabad SP Aastha Modi said, “After the body was found, Pahuja’s family members were informed, they have also arrived. They have identified his body. The body has been sent for post-mortem.”
Giving information about the matter, DSP Shamsher Singh of Jakhal area of Fatehabad said, “Divya’s body is being kept in Tohana Civil Hospital. The body has been identified by tattoos. Divya’s family members were also informed. The post-mortem of Divya’s body will be conducted in Tohana itself.”
What did the accused tell about the murder?
One of the accused had confessed on January 12 that he had thrown her body in a canal in Punjab on January 3, a day after her alleged murder. Balraj Gill, who was arrested from Kolkata airport last evening when he was about to go abroad by flight.
During police interrogation, Balraj Gill said that he had thrown the body of model Divya Pahuja in a canal in Patiala, which is about 270 kilometers from Gurugram.
Divya Pahuja was murdered in a hotel in Gurgaon on January 2. CCTV footage showed the killers dragging her body out of the hotel into a car.
Why murder?
27-year-old Divya Pahuja was taken to a hotel room by five people. Police said she was shot in the head because she was allegedly blackmailing the hotel owner with obscene photographs of her.
Divya Pahuja was in jail in 2016 for her alleged involvement in the fake encounter of her then boyfriend and Gurugram gangster Sandeep Gadoli. He was granted bail in June last year.
