Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that Asha and Anganwadi workers will now get health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

ASHA workers are community health workers under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare since 2005, part of the National Rural Health Mission. Anganwadi workers manage Anganwadis under the Integrated Child Development Scheme.
Ayushman Bharat is a flagship government scheme launched to provide health coverage to all, designed keeping in mind the National Health Policy 2017 and Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched in 2018, providing health coverage of Rs 5 lakh to over 500 million beneficiaries, making it the world’s largest government-funded healthcare program. Is.
