Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He described Budget 2024 as the budget of India’s future. Sitharaman has claimed that India will become a developed nation by 2047.
Nirmala Sitharaman said, “The people of the country are looking towards the future. They are hopeful. We are moving forward under the leadership of PM Modi. When PM Modi started work in 2014, there were a lot of challenges. Work has been started in the public interest. The public has been given maximum employment opportunities. A new purpose and hope has arisen in the country. The public elected us to the government for the second time. We talked about comprehensive development. Move forward with the mantra of everyone’s support, everyone’s trust and everyone’s effort.”

- ASHA-Anganwadi workers will be covered under Ayushman Bharat Scheme
- The government will start a new housing scheme for middle class families.
- The Union Finance Minister has announced that two crore more houses will be built in the next 5 years under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural.
- 40,000 ordinary railway coaches will be brought to the level of Vande Bharat.
- 3 big economic railway corridors will be built. These will be energy, mineral and cement corridors; There are port connectivity corridors and high traffic density corridors. Projects have been identified under PM Gati Shakti to enable multi-modal connectivity.
- About 1 crore women became Lakhpati Didi, now the target is to make 3 crore Lakhpati Didi – Finance Minister
