India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), which operates in post offices across the country, has achieved a new milestone by reaching out to 8 crore customers. According to the PIB report, the Union Ministry of Communications said, ‘Crores of customers are taking advantage of the innovative and inclusive services of India Post Payment Bank. The bank’s reach to 8 crore customers strengthens the trust of the countrymen on IPPB.

India Post Payments Bank has been established under the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications with 100% equity of the Central Government. It was started on September 1, 2018. The objective of its establishment was to bridge the financial gap, empower the underprivileged population as well as promote financial inclusion through a combination of traditional and digital banking services.
