America has stopped the UN proposal to stop the war in Gaza. UN Chief Antonio Guterres had presented this proposal using Article 99 of the UN Charter.
In this proposal, Guterres had demanded to call an emergency meeting of the UNSC and declare a ceasefire. But America used veto on the proposal. Let us tell you that 5 permanent members of UNSC have veto power.
Using the veto, America said that this proposal is beyond the real conditions and it does not move even a needle on the ground.
The AFP report quoted Hamas’ Health Ministry as saying that so far 17,487 people have died in the war in the Palestinian territories. Most of them are women and children.
Israel had decided to eliminate Hamas after the unexpected attack on October 7. According to Israel, terrorists came into its border from Gaza and killed about 1200 people and took people hostage. Of these, 138 are still in his captivity.
Large areas of Gaza have been made barren. The United Nations says that about 80% of the Palestinian population has been driven from their land. People are facing severe shortage of food, oil, water and medicines.
Israel attacked 450 places in 24 hours
