A total of 1,263 violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) were reported and cash and other material worth Rs 130 crore was seized during the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Election officials gave this information. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) P K Pole said that the police department has seized the highest amount of Rs 107.50 crore. He said that till now a total of 1,263 cases of MCC violations have come to light, out of which 600 have been closed after investigation and appropriate action.
He said that investigation of 364 complaints is underway, which will be resolved soon. Apart from this, notices have been issued to 115 candidates, political parties, media institutions and others for MCC violations. The CEO said that taking strict action against illegal activities related to drugs, cash and alcohol, enforcement agencies have registered 32 FIRs.
Poll said, a total of Rs 130 crore has been seized by various enforcement agencies in Jammu and Kashmir so far during the 2024 assembly elections.
