Congress Party has released the list of 39 candidates for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly Elections 2023 on 16 October. This list has been released when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Mizoram.
Congress has fielded 37 ST candidates in the Mizoram elections. At the same time, tickets have been given to two generals.

Which candidate from which seat?
Mizoram Congress Committee chief Lal Swata has been fielded from Aizawl West-III (ST). Whereas, Lalnunmawia Chuango has been made the candidate from Aizawl North-I (ST). Lalrindika Ralte will contest from Hachek (ST), Lalmingthanga from Selo Dampa (ST) and Lalrinmaviya from Aizawl North-II.
At the same time, Congress has fielded Lalsanglura Ralte from Aizawl East-I constituency. This seat is currently held by Mizo National Front (MNF) President and Chief Minister Zoramthanga.
Mizoram election 2018 result
In 2018, Mizo National Front Party won the Mizoram elections with a majority, after which Zoramthanga became the Chief Minister. His party had won 27 seats. At the same time, Congress had won four seats, while BJP had won only one seat. Independent candidates had won eight seats in the state.
Fear of three-way contest in C Voter survey
Here, according to C Voter Survey, a three-way contest has been predicted between National Front (NMF), Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and Congress. While MNF is expected to win 13-17 seats, Congress may win 10-14 seats. ZPM is expected to win 9-13 seats.
The estimated vote share for MNF, Congress and ZPM is 30.5 percent, 28.3 percent and 27.1 percent respectively.
Elections will be held in Mizoram on 7 November
There are 40 assembly seats in Mizoram. Voting will take place here on 7th November. Counting of votes will take place on December 3.
