Adani Group’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) informed on Thursday that passenger traffic at the airport has increased by 13% annually to 48.8 lakh (4.88 million) during December 2023. He had said in a statement that this is the highest passenger traffic ever for the airport (Mumbai Airport).
43 lakh passengers traveled in December 2022
The total passenger traffic at Mumbai Airport in December 2022 was 43.3 lakh (4.33 million). The airport operator said that CSMIA has continuously expanded and this has helped it to grow well.
CSMIA further said that December 17 saw the highest passenger traffic in a single day. 165,258 passengers traveled through the airport that day. Out of this, 84,166 passengers arrived at the airport and 81,092 passengers departed.
A total of 28,462 flights took off from the airport in December. Of these, 21,175 were on domestic routes and the remaining 7,287 were on international routes.
The maximum number of domestic flights from this airport were from Delhi, Bangalore and Goa. The statement said that the highest passenger traffic on international routes was for Dubai, London and Abu Dhabi.
