To bring a smartphone that can be used without any hassle in the rainy season, Chinese company OPPO has introduced the F27 Pro+ 5G smartphone, which is set to launch in India on June 13.
OPPO is calling it India’s first ‘super-rugged, monsoon-ready smartphone’, with Swiss SGS 5 star drop resistance and MIL-STD-810H Method 516.8 certification for its robust build. However, the most striking feature of the smartphone is the IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
OPPO F27 Pro Plus is a waterproof smartphone
OPPO says the F27 Pro Plus will have a waterproof microphone, speaker opening, SIM card slot pinhole, and USB port. According to OPPO, the microphone opening and earpiece speaker are covered by a film that lets audio pass but keeps water out, and the USB unit is protected with a silicone ring.
Oppo says the device uses a new waterproof circuit design. Also, according to Oppo, the display on the F27 Pro Plus will work even with wet hands.
The smartphone weighs 177 grams
Despite the robust design, OPPO claims that the F27 Pro Plus weighs only 177 grams and is just 7.89 millimeters thin. Also, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has been used to give the display additional protection. For water and dust resistance, the F27 Pro Plus has received three different IP ratings.
The IP66 rating provides protection against dust and regular water splashes. The IP68 rating guarantees protection against dust and immersion in one and a half meters of water for a maximum of 30 minutes. But the most special thing about the F27 Pro Plus is that it has also received an IP69 rating, which can protect the phone from hot, high-pressure water jets up to 80 degrees Celsius.
Leather backing is siloxane coated for stain resistance
This smartphone will have a leather back and a 3D curved AMOLED display. The leather back has been coated with siloxane to protect it from stains so that the smartphone can be used even without a cover.
Also, the front cover of the motherboard uses a very strong aluminum alloy called AM03. Oppo also says that this smartphone comes with a 360-degree damage-proof armor body and has been subjected to several internal durability tests.
