Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 19,150 crore in Varanasi and dedicated it to the nation. These also include the inauguration of the new freight corridor project (Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar-New Bhaupur) built at a cost of approximately Rs 10,900 crore along with other rail projects.
He flagged off the Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train. Also flagged off Dohrighat-Mau MEMU train and two long haul goods trains on the new Fred corridor. He also flagged off the 10,000th engine manufactured at Banaras Locomotive Works. He also launched the Integrated Tourist Pass System under the Smart City Mission.
‘Modi’s guarantee vehicle is a super hit’
In his address, the Prime Minister said, ‘When Kashi is prosperous, UP is prosperous and when UP is prosperous, the country is prosperous.’ He said, ‘Kashi along with the entire country is committed to the resolve of a developed India.’
PM Modi said, ‘Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) has reached thousands of villages and cities, where crores of citizens are joining it. People call VBSY van ‘Modi’s guarantee vehicle’ It is said that Modi’s guaranteed vehicle is a super hit.’
He said, ‘The stream of development in Varanasi will take the entire region to new heights. Even though Purvanchal was neglected for decades, but with the blessings of Mahadev, now Modi is engaged in its service.’
PM Modi made 9 requests
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made 9 requests to the people during his address. He said, ‘Today once again I am placing before you 9 resolutions, 9 requests.
- Save every drop of water and make people aware about water conservation.
- Go from village to village to make people aware about digital transactions.
- Work to make your village, city, locality number 1 in cleanliness.
- Promote local products as much as possible, use only Made in India products.
- As much as possible, first see your country, travel around your country.
- Make farmers more and more aware about natural farming.
- Include millets i.e. Sri Anna in your life, propagate it widely.
- Be it fitness, yoga or sports, make it an integral part of your life.
- Be a supporter of at least one poor family, help them. This is necessary to remove poverty in India.
India will become the third largest economic power
Referring to the general elections to be held in a few months (General Election 2024), the Prime Minister said, ‘Modi has guaranteed to make India the third largest economic power in the world in his third term. Today if I am giving this guarantee to the country, it is because of all of you, my family members of Kashi. You have always stood by me, strengthening my resolve.’
On the occasion of the stage program, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and many other ministers were also present.
