Altman was dismissed from the post of CEO by the board on Friday (17 November). There were disagreements between the two on developing and monetization of AI. But after this an unprecedented rebellion was seen in the company. More than 500 employees of the company threatened to quit their jobs and demanded the removal of the current board. After this the shareholders also opened a front against the board.
Nadella had planned to work with Altman
Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella also announced the joining of Altman and his team in Microsoft. However, Nadella made it clear that even if Altman goes back to OpenAI, he has no problem.
After dismissing Altman, the board made Meera Murati the interim CEO, but she also opposed the board. After which it was announced that former Twitch CEO Emmitt Shear would be made the CEO.
