A major plane accident occurred on Tuesday at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan. The plane traveling with 367 passengers caught fire after colliding with another aircraft. However, all the passengers have been rescued safely.
Accident happened during landing
According to Japan’s national broadcaster NHK, this accident happened in Airbus SE A350-900. The accident occurred when the plane was in the process of landing. But then the plane caught fire after colliding with another already parked plane. The plane standing on the runway belonged to Japan Coast Guard.
Then the crashed plane somehow landed dragging on the runway. In a video, a plane engulfed in flames can be seen landing.
This flight (JL516) was coming from New Chitose Airport. It was to land in Haneda after about 1 hour 20 minutes. The accident occurred at 5:47 pm local time.
There were a total of 367 passengers on board the plane, including 8 children and 12 crew members. The fire on the plane can be seen in NHK’s live video. The airport has been closed after the incident. Japan Coast Guard is also investigating the matter.
