Charles Munger, who played an important role in setting up Berkshire Hathaway, has died at the age of 99. He was also known as Charlie Munger.
He was with Warren Buffett for the last 60 years and played a big role in the journey of transforming Hathway from a failed textile manufacturer into a multinational company.
Hathaway issued a statement saying, ‘Charles Munger died on Tuesday in a hospital in California. He was living in Los Angeles for a long time.

Buffett said, ‘Building Berkshire Hathaway into the position it is today would not have been possible without Charles’s inspiration, wisdom and participation.’
Charles Munger was trained as a lawyer. He was 7 years older than Buffett. He created a philosophy of making long term investments in companies.
Charles Munger was the owner of more than 2.5 billion dollars
Munger was the vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the company’s largest shareholders. The value of his stocks was about $2.2 billion. According to Forbes, his total net worth was around $2.6 billion.
Charles Munger was born on January 1, 1924 in Omaha. His father was a lawyer and after studying at Harvard, he practiced in Omaha.
