Congress suffered a major setback before the start of the “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” campaign. Former Union Minister Milind Deora resigned from Congress. He informed about his resignation by posting on ‘X’. The 47-year-old leader is the son of late former Union Minister Murli Deora and is currently the President of Mumbai Congress.
What did you say on resignation?
In a Posting on January 14 at 8:36 am, Milind Deora said, “Today marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in my political journey. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of INCIndia, ending my family’s 55-year relationship with the party. I am grateful to all leaders, colleagues & karyakartas for their unwavering support over the years.”
At the same time, when the media questioned his resignation, Milind Deora said, “I am walking on the path of development.”
Which party will Devara join hands with?
Milind Deora was one of the young leaders of Congress who was considered a member of Rahul Gandhi’s team, and he was among Rahul Gandhi’s close friends for a long time. However, after 2014, due to some reasons, he had distanced himself from Rahul and the Gandhi family, but recently the closeness between him and the Gandhi family had increased again, and he also got the reward for this.
In December last year, Milind Deora was given the responsibility of joint treasurer in the team of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and since then there were speculations that now all is well between Deora and the Gandhi family.
Meanwhile, there was talk for some days that Devra would be a part of Eknath Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena. But on Saturday (January 13), he termed it a “rumor”.
Milind Deora, former Union Minister said “I am talking to my supporters right now, I have not taken any decision yet. “
Why did Milind Deora separate from Congress?
Actually, no main reason for Milind Deora’s resignation from Congress has been revealed yet, but it is discussed that the reason for separation is the Mumbai South seat, on which Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) is staking its stake.
Recently, Milind Deora said that if such statements of an alliance partner do not stop, then his party can also announce its candidates for Lok Sabha seats. He said that the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will not be easy for the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, hence no one should make claims.
It is noteworthy that Milind Deora was elected MP from Mumbai South seat in 2004 and 2009. Whereas, in 2014 and 2019 he was at second place. This seat is held by Shiv Sena (Undivided) leader Arvind Sawant since 2014. According to the information, Devra’s family has been leading the Mumbai South seat for almost 50 years. In such a situation, it is believed that Devra was upset with the statements of Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leaders and he might have resigned for this reason.
