This information has been shared by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma himself. Sharing the information, he said that Tata Group is considering setting up a semiconductor plant in Assam and for this, Tata Group will also invest Rs 40,000 crore in the state. The Chief Minister of the state also said that after getting permission from the state, the company has now approached the Central Government and negotiations are ongoing. Along with this, the Chief Minister also said that work related to this project can also start soon.
Where will the factory be built?
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that very good news is coming for us. Tata Electronics Limited has applied to setting up an electronics center in Jagirod. The company has filed an agreement with the Government of India according to which it will invest approximately Rs 40,000 crore in Assam. Let us tell you that Jagirod is present in Morigaon district of Assam and it is about 55 kilometers away from the state capital Guwahati.
Times are changing
The Chief Minister also said that Tata Group had first held initial talks with the state government for setting up a semiconductor factory and after that, being satisfied with the talks, it is now talking to the Central Government. Along with this, the Chief Minister also said that Tata Group has told the state government that it will also train 1000 people to work in this factory. Himanta Biswa Sarma also said that we always used to ask why the electronic and IT industry did not come to our state, but now times are changing.
