There is a good news for Google Pay users. Now Google Pay users will be able to make UPI payments abroad also. Google Pay India (Google India Digital Services Out Ltd.) on Wednesday has entered into an agreement with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL). The objective of this MoU is to expand UPI service in other countries.
This agreement broadens the use of UPI payments for Indian people traveling or living outside the country, so that they can easily transact abroad. With this, they will not need to carry cash abroad or resort to international payment gateways.
3 main objectives
Google Pay said in a statement, this MoU has 3 main objectives.
- This makes UPI payments widespread for those traveling outside India.
- This is to help establish digital payment systems like UPI in other countries, which will provide a model for seamless transactions.
- It will simplify the remittance process between countries using UPI infrastructure, thereby making cross-border financial transactions easier.
This strategic partnership will not only simplify overseas transactions for Indian travelers but will also allow us to expand our knowledge and expertise of operating a successful digital payments ecosystem to other countries.
